8 Ways to Enjoy National Pet Day

8 Ways to Enjoy National Pet Day

There are millions of people who have cats and dogs as pets. However, on April 11th, also known as National Pet Day, pet owners have the opportunity to showcase pets that aren’t as popular as the aforementioned furry friends. Across the United States, many people decide to adopt their first pet on National Pet Day. An American actor, James Cromwell, has this to say about caring for a pet: “Pets are humanizing. They remind us we have an obligation and responsibility to preserve and nurture and care for all life.”

How to Enjoy National Pet Day

Surely you celebrate your pet every day! Now would be a great time to create something special for your pet to show them how much you love them. If you don’t have a pet yet, consider adopting a moss ball! Regardless of what you choose to do, National Pet Day is about enjoying the happiness your pet brings into your life.

Fun fact: Easter 2020 is just around the corner (April 12th). This year instead of including chicks or bunnies in Easter baskets, use Moss Ball Pets! Unlike traditional pets, you won’t have to worry about buying food or vet care. Click here to learn more about why Moss Ball Pets are the best pet.

#1: Give Them a DIY Gift

Buying toys, treats, habitat decorations, and other fun things for your pet can become expensive. Cut back on those unnecessary costs by making a gift for your pet! A quick internet search can lead you to a video that teaches you how to make a tug-o-war rope for your dog or some toys for your pet bird.

#2: Purchase Pet Insurance

If your pet had a medical emergency right now, would you be able to cover the cost? Many people don’t think about preparing for the unexpected and this is an issue that’s easy to resolve. There is a myriad of companies offering affordable pet insurance, and yes, it’s even available for pets like snakes, fish, and other unconventional pets.

Luckily, moss balls don’t need shots, a special diet, or anything else that would require attention from a veterinarian. If you’ve already adopted a Moss Ball Pet, instead of spending this time searching for the right insurance, spend some time on self-care (your moss ball can help!).

#3: Donate to an Animal Shelter

Due to COVID-19, you should not take any risks by taking a trip to a local animal shelter. Instead, visit their website and see what items you can have shipped to them. There might also be an option to make a financial contribution online to help the shelter through these challenging times.

If you visit petfinder.com, you can use this animal shelter locator to help a sweet companion find a new forever home.

#4: Adopt a Moss Ball Pet

There are a lot of reasons that people could be without a pet. Some of the things that prevent pets from finding a new home include: dorm rules, jobs that require a lot of travel, allergies, and the list could go on and on.

Fortunately, Moss Ball Pets are the perfect pets for these unique situations. They don’t need to go out for a walk, you won’t have to ask someone to watch them when you’re on a weekend trip, and they won’t shed on your furniture.

For those who already have a pet, a moss ball can still make a great addition to your family because they are so mellow, zany, and caring for them is unbelievably easy.

Right now, we have a special opportunity for people to adopt FREE BABY MOSS BALL PETS! You can claim your free babies by making any purchase on our website and typing  "I WANT BABIES" in the comments box at checkout. *This offer is limited as we only have babies periodically.*

#5: Take Some Photos With Your Pet

Do you have about 15 or 20 minutes? That’s all the time that you’ll need to get some memorable photos of you and your favorite companion(s). Taking some pictures with your pet is a great way to enjoy National Pet Day because then, you can share your cuddly companion with the rest of the world by including  #NationalPetDay when you post on social media.

Fun fact: For bonus points, ask someone else to use the pictures or use a self-timer and wear a costume or matching outfit to achieve maximum cuteness!

#6: Go Get Some Fresh Air

We are in a pandemic, so now is not the time to meet up with pals at the park. That does not mean that you can’t go outdoors and take your pet out to get some fresh air.  Spring has sprung! Now that the sun is out, you can grab one of those DIY toys you’ve made and spend some quality time with your best bud.

Don’t worry, your Moss Ball Pet loves traveling! You can go on a hike or take a quick bike ride on a local trail and your moss ball would enjoy the adventure.

#7: Plan a Party

When was the last time you held a quirky event? Birthday parties for pets are starting to become more common, visit any social media websites to see what other pet parents are doing. National Pet Day is the best time to sit down and plan out a loving celebration for your pet.

You could celebrate the day you adopted them, their graduation from obedience school, or just because you want them to know how much everyone loves them.

To make the day extra special, go to Pinterest and start crafting some DIY decorations!

#8:Learn About Other Days to Celebrate Your Pet

National Pet Day is not the only time that you should enjoy time with your pet(s). Find the time today to research other days or events that are dedicated to making your pet feel special. These memorable occasions could help you connect with other pet owners and in the future, you can set up playdates.  Isn’t that adorable?

Fun fact: Moss balls are celebrated in Japan during a festival known as Marimo Matsuri. To learn more about this 3-day event, click here!
